Supporting Our Local Community: Berwick Rugby Club

We are always proud to support and engage with our local communities, and we’re especially pleased to lend a hand to Berwick Rugby Club by providing new post protectors for their pitch.

As a firm rooted in the Borderlands, we value the role that local clubs and organisations play in bringing people together, building resilience, and fostering pride in our shared place. Supporting Berwick Rugby Club is just one of the many ways we continue to invest in the community we call home.

Berwick Rugby Club Vice President Andrew Martin and GWA Partner Colin Frame had a few words to say.

Andrew Martin: “The Club is very grateful to the continued support of Greaves West & Ayre with their purchase and sponsorship of two sets of post protectors. Greaves West & Ayre, like so many local businesses, have been long term supporters of the Club.

The Club, like many others, is working hard to keep the facilities as modern as we can to provide a safe place for our many players. As well as our senior men & senior ladies’ teams we also offer rugby from age seven to 17 and these post protectors help keep them safe. Thank you to Greaves West & Ayre for the smart new look!”

Colin Frame: “Berwick Rugby Club has been part of the local community for over fifty years now. As a business we have made use of their fantastic Clubhouse facilities to host client seminars. Many of our employees and their children play at the Club and we are delighted to help keep them safe with the purchase of these post protectors. Greaves West & Ayre will continue to support our local communities, and we are glad to have been able to help on this occasion.”

We wish everyone at Berwick Rugby Club a great season ahead.

Scottish Budget 2026/27

Shona Robison’s final Scottish Budget for 2026/27 was delivered yesterday after a delay caused by the late UK Budget, marking a pivotal moment ahead of the May Holyrood elections and her departure from frontline politics. The Budget sets out tax, welfare, and public‑service plans that will shape Scotland’s political debate over the coming months.

Market Commentary: 6 January 2026

We enter 2026 with US stocks dominating the global market while trading on expensive valuations. A small number of tech stocks account for a large portion of US returns and they are increasingly tied to the fortunes of the AI industry. These are certainly risks to be aware of.

Market Commentary – 5 December 2025

Stocks had a small dip in November, before recovering back towards their previous highs. The longest US government shutdown in history had a negative effect, before coming to an abrupt end and allowing stocks to rally.
