Payroll Administrator

We are looking to recruit a Payroll Administrator to work at our office in Berwick upon Tweed.

Job Type: Full time, 37 hours per week. Permanent
We will consider full and part-time applicants/job shares for this role.

The Role

As Payroll Administrator within our businesses, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • You will work with our team of five people using the PayCircle payroll employee platform to run client payrolls.
  • Possess a good understanding of payroll and pension processes, including familiarity with relevant legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Execute payroll and pension procedures accurately, covering tasks such as timesheet input, processing payroll cycles, managing pension amendments and handling auto enrolment.
  • Maintain up to date documentation and operating procedures for all payroll and pension related processes.
  • Liaise with clients on their needs and be able to deal with their queries.

In addition, you will receive ongoing mentoring and (If required/desired) will have the opportunity to study towards Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP), ensuring you gain both the professional and practical skills to deliver quality client support throughout your career.

The Person

If you have good team and communication skills, confidence, approachability, meticulous attention to detail, strong time management skills and are prepared to work hard, we would love to hear from you.

We would prefer someone with experience in operating within a Payroll/Pensions team in a transaction processing environment. Microsoft Office skills are essential, CIPP qualification and CIS reporting skills are both desirable. We would however consider a trainee if you can demonstrate your desire to meet the skills required.

  • Your salary and pension package will be very competitive, with an annual review
