Financial Adviser (IFA) – Experienced

 We are looking to recruit an experienced Financial Planner to work at our office in Berwick upon Tweed

Job Type: Full time, 37 hours per week. Permanent

We will consider full and part-time applicants/job shares for this role.

Greaves West & Ayre Wealth Management is a division of Greaves West & Ayre, Chartered Accountants. Regulated by the FCA and recently listed as a Top 100 firm by *FT Adviser*, our wealth management team delivers holistic, independent financial advice to a broad and growing client base.

As a result of continued business success and expansion, we are looking to recruit an experienced Financial Planner to strengthen our team and support the delivery of trusted financial planning to individuals, families, and business owners across the region.

The Role

  • Provide both initial and ongoing independent financial advice across all areas of wealth management, including investments, pensions, estate and inheritance tax planning, trusts, and protection. (This role does not involve mortgage advice.)
  • Contribute to the growth and profitability of the firm through strong client relationship building, retention, and new business development.
  • Ensure that all advice and documentation complies with FCA requirements and internal standards of quality, accuracy, and integrity.
  • Work closely with our experienced and motivated paraplanners and support staff, who will provide dedicated technical and administrative assistance.
  • Stay up to date with regulatory changes and maintain high professional standards through ongoing CPD and personal development.

The Candidate

  • Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (required).
  • Experience in a regulated financial advice or paraplanning role.
  • Progression toward Level 6 / Chartered status (desirable).
  • Strong knowledge of FCA regulations (e.g., COBS, Consumer Duty) and advice standards.
  • Deep understanding of financial planning processes and product suitability.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to assess cases critically and provide clear, reasoned input.
  • Team-oriented with a proactive approach to supporting shared objectives.
  • Proficient in financial planning tools (e.g., Voyant) and CRM systems (e.g., Xplan).
