Background

‘Chip off the Old Block’ is a commercial manufacturing company. They recently made significant financial investment in order to improve and upgrade their systems and processes.

How GWA helped

GWA identified that the new improvements would qualify for a Research and Development (R&D) claim.

In order to make the claim, GWA staff spent time on site to understand the whole manufacturing procedure and thereby work out what element of the new process could be considered as scientific improvements. This allowed us to identify the costs eligible for enhanced R&D relief and turn that into a tax repayment for the client.

We respect the privacy of everyone who comes to GWA for advice. So while this case study is true, we have changed client names to maintain business and financial confidentiality.
This information should be taken as general guidance only. Before making any decision or taking any action, you should seek professional advice.
