Successful Autumn Rural Seminars

Greaves West & Ayre recently held two successful and well-attended Port Budget Rural Seminars.

Autumn Seminar, Berwick

The first seminar was at Berwick Rugby Club on the 25 November 2024 with a second at the Maitlandfield Hotel in Haddington on the 10 December 2024. Over the two events, we hosted some 250+ clients.

Following what has been one of the most significant Budgets of recent times our clients heard from Partner Billy Cleland who covered changes to Inheritance Tax, Capital Gains Tax, Furnished Holiday Lets and Employers’ National Insurance Contributions along with changes to the treatment of Double Cab Pick-ups. Neil Robertson, Chartered Financial Planner from our Wealth Team then looked at what the Budget announcement meant for Pensions.

With much of the finer detail still uncertain, until draft legislation and guidance becomes available, we will continue to review the information from the Government and HMRC. Further seminars or similar events will be considered in 2025 once we work through the detail.

In the meantime, if you would like to discuss how the changes announced may affect you or your business please speak to your Partner.

Electronic copies of the Rural Seminar presentations are available for GWA clients – please contact us to request these.
