We have a reputation for excellence and a commitment to delivering the highest standard of service, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chartered Tax Advisor or Chartered Accountant to join our dynamic team.

Job Summary:

As a Director, you will play a leading role in our firm’s tax team and be responsible for overseeing a portfolio of clients, providing high-level technical tax advice, managing complex tax issues, and ensuring compliance with the latest tax legislation. This is a senior leadership role that requires both strategic insight and technical expertise in tax law. You will oversee the delivery of tax services across the firm and support partners by playing a key role in driving the growth of the firm’s tax offering.

You will be involved in assisting and nurturing the next generation of trainee and newly qualified chartered accountants and we will value your assistance in delivering strategic insights that contribute to the firm’s growth and success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tax Advisory: Provide expert advice on complex tax issues, including corporate tax, personal tax, inheritance tax, VAT, and international tax matters, tailored to each client’s unique needs. If you have specialised in specific areas mentioned above we would still encourage you to apply.
  • Client Management: Manage and develop relationships with key clients, ensuring delivery of timely, accurate, and strategic tax planning advice.
  • Tax Planning: Lead the development of innovative tax planning strategies that optimise clients’ tax positions, while ensuring full compliance with current tax laws and regulations.
  • Compliance Oversight: Oversee a portfolio of clients, ensuring the timely preparation and submission of tax returns, ensuring all filings are accurate and in accordance with tax law.
  • Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop the chartered colleagues and support our tax team, providing technical guidance and supporting their professional development.
  • Process Improvement: Develop and implement processes to improve efficiency in tax reporting and compliance, both within the department and across the firm.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with partners and heads of other departments (accounts, audit, advisory) to provide integrated financial and tax solutions to clients.

Key Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Must be a fully qualified Chartered Accountant or Chartered Tax Advisor (CA, ACA, ACCA, CTA, or equivalent).
  • Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of post-qualification experience in a similar role, ideally within an accountancy practice or professional services firm.
  • Technical Skills: Extensive knowledge of tax laws and regulations, including corporate tax and/or personal & private client tax.
  • Client-Focused: Proven track record in managing client relationships, delivering high-quality tax advice and planning services.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven experience in leading and managing a team, with a track record of delivering high-quality services on time and within budget.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to report clearly to clients and colleagues.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • IT Skills: Proficient in tax software (e.g., CCH) and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
