Three Counties Director earns prestigious accreditation

GWA sister company, Three Counties Ltd, is pleased to announce that Director, Corryn Wild, has achieved full accreditation status of the Society of Later Life Advisers (SOLLA).

SOLLA was established in 2008 as a ‘not-for-profit’ organisation to help people and their families find trusted financial advisers who specifically understand the financial challenges faced in later life.

Corryn (pictured left) said “For me it’s about helping individuals and their families in a practical way. Usually at a time when things can be changing very quickly for them. Often people come to me to discuss paying for care, or dealing with the assets of a family member who can no longer manage their own finances. Families need more than technical information and jargon, they need to understand their options and be helped to make informed decisions. I can help people navigate the care system and identify any benefits they might be entitled to. Families supporting older relatives really appreciate having someone they can trust who understands the particular challenges they are facing.”

SOLLA accreditation is the gold standard of later life financial advice. Corryn is now one of a small number of accredited advisers in the North East who can provide an advisory service to older people and their families. SOLLA accredited advisers use a wide range of skills and techniques to specifically communicate with older, more vulnerable clients so that they can make better informed decisions about their finances. The rigorous accreditation process goes beyond an academic knowledge of facts and figures.  The adviser must also adhere to a strict code of practice and offer empathetic support and guidance.

Like many of our wealth team, Corryn has many years of experience as an independent financial adviser.  She is also a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society (PFS).   We hope you will join us in congratulating Corryn who has worked incredibly hard.  This accolade not only proves her ability and knowledge but demonstrates her commitment to providing the highest level of individual tailored advice her clients.

Our aim across the whole GWA family is to always focus on delivering Quality Advice Quality Service.  And we are both proud and delighted Corryn’s dedication to achieving this has been recognised.

Pound cost averaging – What’s it all about?

Pound cost averaging is a phrase which is often used in passing by financial advisers. A little, well-known perk often associated with making regular contributions into an investment. But what does it actually mean?

The Importance of Diversification

As financial advisers, we often talk about the value of diversification within an investment portfolio. This blog post clearly illustrates the concept of diversification through a striking visual — the quilt chart.

Global Market Commentary – 11 November 2025

Another month, another gain for stock markets. It can’t continue like this forever and there are clear signs of profit-taking in some of the most popular trades. This feels like a test to see whether a renewed bout of “buy-the-dip” behaviour will drive stocks to fresh highs once the US government re-opens.
