The Role:
As a Tax Senior within our Tax team, you will play a leading role in our firm’s tax team and be responsible for overseeing a portfolio of clients, providing high-level technical tax advice, managing complex tax issues, and ensuring on time compliance with the latest tax legislation.
This role combines technical compliance work with client-facing responsibilities and offers the opportunity to support junior staff and contribute to advisory projects under the guidance of managers and partners.

Key Responsibilities:
Tax Compliance
- Prepare and review corporation tax and/or personal tax returns.
- Draft computations and supporting schedules, including capital allowances, benefits in kind, and capital gains.
- Ensure timely and accurate submissions and payments.
- Liaise with HMRC to resolve queries and manage correspondence.
Client Management
- Act as the main point of contact for day-to-day client queries.
- Build strong working relationships with clients, providing clear and practical tax advice.
- Proactively manage client information and deadlines.
Technical & Advisory
- Identify potential tax planning opportunities and escalate to managers/partners.
- Assist with drafting technical notes and advisory reports.
- Stay up to date with changes in tax legislation and HMRC guidance.
Team Support
- Review work prepared by junior staff, providing constructive feedback.
- Support the training and development of junior colleagues.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team culture.
Key Requirements:
- Previous experience in a tax compliance role (practice or in-house).
- ATT / CTA qualified (or equivalent) or by relevant professional experience.
- Extensive knowledge of tax laws and regulations, compliance processes and HMRC requirements, including corporate tax and/or personal & private client tax.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise workload.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to report clearly to clients and colleagues.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in tax software (e.g., CCH) and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
