Successful first Rural Seminar

Last Wednesday night (1 November) we held the first of two autumn Rural Seminars.

Our first seminar hosted by our own Richard Ayre was at the Maitlandfield House Hotel in Haddington and included a panel made up of Loren Veitch, Independent Financial Advisor at Greaves West & Ayre, Scott Hunter, Senior Associate at Turcan Connell and Martin Rennie, Agricultural Consultant & Director, Galbraith covering a range of topics from

• Making provisions for succession planning outwith the family business
• When families fall out – pitfalls for agricultural clients
• Rural update with a focus on subsidies

It was a great chance to hear from experts and to look at the key issues currently facing landowners, farming and rural businesses. There was also plenty opportunity to catch up with clients, colleagues and network; there was certainly lots of enthusiastic chat!

Thank you to everyone who came along and to all our panellists on the night.

Our next Rural Seminar will be held on Tuesday 21st November at Howick Hall near Alnwick. Find out more here –
