Future Farming Resilience Fund – Free Advice from Industry Experts

COVID-19, extreme weather events and forthcoming changes to agriculture support as a result of the UK leaving the EU has caused uncertainty for the farming industry. It means that many farming businesses will have to carefully consider their business model and make adaptations for the future.

DEFRA has set up a support scheme for farmers and land managers as they prepare for agricultural transition. It is available to all farming businesses in England that are in receipt of Basic Payment Scheme payments.

DEFRA has awarded grants to organisations who then provide free advice and help to farmers and land managers to:

  • understand the changes that are happening
  • identify how, what and when they may need to adapt their business models
  • access tailored support to adapt.

Support will be the form of farm resilience reviews, seminars, webinars and training. A list of the organisations which are providing support, along with the areas in England they cover, is available online via the DEFRA website.  Each organisation will provide their own tailored programme of support from August 2021 to February 2022.

If you represent an agricultural business that is based in England and receives Direct Payments, we recommend that you identify which organisations are covering your area and get in touch with them as soon as possible so you don’t miss out on valuable advice.

If you would like a more detailed discussion in relation to your farm or agricultural business, please do get in touch.  We have provided specialist advice to generations of farmers for over 100 years and one of our partners would be happy to help.
