Chartered Accountant Graduate Trainees

Closing date: Sunday 16 January 2022

We are looking for talented graduates to join our Graduate Chartered Accountants training programme which starts July/September 2022.

If you are a graduate, or are currently studying at University and are considering a career in the accountancy profession, we have some great opportunities to join our ambitious and friendly team.

With your hard work and dedication, you will have the opportunity to become a well-rounded financial expert and trusted Chartered Accountant. We allow you the freedom to choose between ICAS and ICAEW Chartered Accountant qualifications.

Your training will include spending time in classes at college (usually Newcastle or Edinburgh), completing the exam modules and working within our modern office. You will receive ongoing mentoring throughout and will have the opportunity to work in all of our accountancy departments.  This will provide you with the practical experience and ensure that you gain the professional technical skills required to provide quality client service throughout your career.

This programme has been designed to support you towards becoming a professionally qualified business adviser. You will gain experience across our specialist service lines including Commercial and Corporate Financial accounting, tax and VAT Consultancy, Audit and Assurance, Company Secretarial, and payroll.

GWA holds the ‘Authorised Training Employer’ accreditation of the ICAEW and is an Authorised Training Office of the ICAS, both of which demonstrate our commitment to supporting trainees. We are dedicated to helping students become successful professionals and are proud to be able to offer excellent technical training and to pass on our professional values of Quality Advice Quality Service to every student we welcome to the GWA team.

At GWA we value our team and encourage our employees to grow to their full potential. Many of our longest serving staff, including partners, joined the firm as trainees, which is the best testimony we have to the scheme that we are offering. Retaining our staff is important to us all and is essential in building and maintaining our teams and providing lasting relationships and market leading service to our clients.

If you are a friendly, confident, communicative and approachable individual, prepared to work hard to achieve this qualification, and you are interested in this exciting challenging and rewarding career development, then we would love to hear from you.

You will also need to have at least a 2:1 degree in any discipline (obtained or predicted) or the full AAT qualification, and good communication skills.

Your salary is competitive and increases with each year of study you complete and when you become part qualified. We also cover the costs of your study package, first sitting of each exam and travel expenses.
